Import from a CSV file

Bring many testimonials into HappySaid at once with a CSV or JSON file. How to prepare the columns, check the preview and import only the rows that are valid.

On this page

Use a CSV file to bring in many testimonials at once. You can also upload a JSON file with the same fields.

Prepare the file

  1. In the Import tab, choose Upload CSV.
  2. Click Download template to get a file with the right headings.
  3. Fill in one testimonial per row.

The columns are text, name, title, company, avatar_url, rating, date and source_url. Only text and name are required. The order doesn't matter. Extra columns are ignored, and the preview lists them. Email columns are never imported.

A file can have up to 1,000 rows and be up to 2 MB.

Upload and preview

Drop the file in the drop zone. HappySaid shows a preview before anything is saved:

  • A summary such as "12 ready, 2 with errors, 1 duplicates skipped".
  • A table of the first 20 rows, with filters for All, Errors and Duplicates.
  • A note if some characters look garbled. In Excel, use Save As and choose CSV UTF-8.
  • A warning if some rows would be held because you're over your plan's limit.

Import

Click Import [n] testimonials. Only valid, non-duplicate rows are imported. The result lists how many were approved, pending and over limit, and how many were skipped. Download error report gives you a CSV of the rows that failed and why. Go to inbox takes you to the results.

Approve on import

The Approve on import box applies to the whole file. Untick it to review everything in Pending first.
