Embed on WordPress

Add a testimonial widget to a WordPress page, post or widget area with a Custom HTML block, and what to do when the preview or the live page shows nothing.

On this page

You can add the widget to any post, page or widget area that accepts a Custom HTML block.

Steps

  1. In HappySaid, open Widgets, choose your widget, click Get code and copy the code from the WordPress tab.
  2. In WordPress, edit the page or post.
  3. Add a Custom HTML block where you want the widget.
  4. Paste the code.
  5. Update or Publish the page.
html
<div data-happysaid="YOUR_WIDGET_ID" style="min-height:480px"></div>
<script src="https://cdn.happysaid.com/w.js" async></script>

The preview in the editor

The block editor may show the code and not the widget. Click Preview to see the real thing.

If the widget is missing

  • Your role can't add scripts. WordPress removes script tags from users without the right permissions (the unfiltered_html capability). Ask an administrator, or use the iframe.
  • A security or caching plugin is blocking it. Allow cdn.happysaid.com, and clear your cache after publishing.
  • Your theme or page builder escapes HTML. Try the Custom HTML block instead of a text block.

Site editor and widget areas

In the Site Editor or in a widget area, add a Custom HTML block in the same way.

Updates

Edits you save in HappySaid reach your site in about a minute. You don't need to update the WordPress page.
