Embed on Webflow

Show testimonials on a Webflow site with an Embed element. Why embeds don't run in the Designer, which plans support custom code, and what to check first.

On this page

Webflow can run the HappySaid widget through an Embed element.

Steps

  1. In HappySaid, open Widgets, choose your widget, click Get code and copy the Webflow code.
  2. In Webflow, open the page you want to edit.
  3. Add an Embed element from the Add panel, where you want the widget.
  4. Paste the code into the Embed element and save it.
  5. Publish your site.

The code is the same two lines as for plain HTML:

html
<div data-happysaid="YOUR_WIDGET_ID" style="min-height:480px"></div>
<script src="https://cdn.happysaid.com/w.js" async></script>

Embeds don't run in the Designer

Webflow doesn't run custom code in the Designer, so the area will look empty or show a placeholder there. Use Preview, or open your published site, to see the real widget.

Plans

Custom code embeds need a Webflow plan that supports them. If yours doesn't, use the iframe option.

Tips

  • Put the Embed element inside a section with enough width. A Wall of Love looks best at full width.
  • To use the widget on several pages, create a Webflow Symbol (or Component) that holds the Embed and reuse it.
  • Edits you make to the widget in HappySaid reach your site in about a minute. You don't have to publish Webflow again.

If it doesn't show

  1. Make sure you published, not just saved.
  2. Make sure at least one testimonial is approved.
  3. Open your browser's console on the published page and look for errors.
