Edit a testimonial
Fix typos, trim a long testimonial and highlight its best sentence while the customer's original words are kept. Also covers author details, tags and pinning.
On this page
Open any testimonial by clicking its row, or by pressing Enter on it. A drawer slides in with everything you can change.
Edit the text
Change the text in the Testimonial box. HappySaid keeps the customer's original words. After you save, the testimonial shows an Edited badge, and a collapsible Original section shows what they wrote. Click Restore original to go back.
Fix typos and trim for length, but don't change the meaning. A testimonial should say what the customer meant.
Highlight the best sentence
- Save your text edits first.
- Select the strongest sentence in the Testimonial box.
- Click Highlight selection.
- Click Save changes.
Widgets mark the highlighted phrase in the customer's quote. Clear highlight removes it. If you edit the text later, the highlight is cleared, because the position may have moved.
Author details
You can change the name, title, company, website and handle. The email is read-only and private. The star rating is read-only too, since it is the customer's own, and changing it would change what they said.
Tags, favourites and pinning
Add tags, mark a favourite and pin a testimonial to the top of every widget from the same drawer. See Tags and favourites.
Source and consent
The drawer shows where a testimonial came from and the date. For testimonials from your form, it shows the consent wording and the time. For imported ones, it shows "Imported by you".
Save or cancel
Click Save changes. If you close the drawer with unsaved edits, HappySaid asks "Discard changes?".
